MUMI is the first professional music and culture market organized by the two Iberian territories and promoted by an association that integrates companies, professionals and groups from the Galician and Portuguese music sector; and supported by Xunta’s program ‘Your Xacobeo’ with the aim of creating a real and stable round-trip bridge for the music of both countries.
The meeting, which will take place in Verín on March 12, 13 and 14, will bring together artists and bands, promoters, management companies, festivals, publishers, service and production companies, etc. to share ideas, create solid synergies, establish new contact networks and meet new proposals in the first person.
Among the objectives of the meeting, an annual agenda of joint work at the sectoral, corporate and institutional level will also be set to become the reference space for the current musical situation in Galicia and Portugal.
The fair will feature a professional program that will include training activities (technical, legal, marketing), speed meetings (quick meetings) between professionals in the sector, showcases with the selection of artists and bands from Galicia and Portugal, and a sectorial fair with the present companies in different areas of the sector.
The path and achievement of Xacobeo 2021 will be treated specifically as great generators of opportunities for the sector, taking advantage of its cultural heritage and the natural spaces it offers. There will also be concerts open to the general public with the selection of musical proposals of different styles and formats, in a program that will demonstrate the new values and figures already enshrined in multidisciplinary shows for the family and adult audiences.
From the organization of MUMI in Galicia, Manuel Vicente ‘Roxo’ assured that “for a long time that both bands and artists, as well as the Galician and Portuguese music industry, have been looking for space where the professional sector was recognized as a generator of wealth and diversity”.
Roxo guaranteed that “MUMI appears to become a platform for the internationalization of our music, a space where Galicia and Portugal could cooperate directly, weaving professional networks that really strengthen the professional music sector and where we are able to generate synergies that are reflected in medium-term in the production and commercialization of the music of the two countries ”.
