Municipal Market of São Brás de Alportel celebrates 52 years with digital gastronomic book and delivery of protective visors
[dropcap]In[/dropcap] the middle of a State of Emergency, prevented from celebrating the date as it wished, the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel marked the 52nd anniversary of the Municipal Market with the delivery of protective visors to sellers and the launch of a digital edition, in a reduced format of the book “Cycle of Flavors of the São Brás de Alportel Municipal Market“.
The delivery of protective visors to market vendors complements the set of measures that have been implemented in the Municipal Market, such as the distribution of protective equipment (masks and gloves) to vendors, the placement of disinfectant gel dispensers, the reduction of the time and the conditioning of the entries.
The incentive to make doorstep selling services available was another measure welcomed by the sellers, who in the vast majority now take the Market to the São Brasenses home. In this way, it is intended to guarantee the safety and protection of everyone in this space of excellence for the acquisition of fresh products for your table.
The visors were produced by the solidarity network of São Paulo and are being delivered to all commercial and service establishments in the municipality, having started their distribution through food distribution.
On this day, when the book “Cycle of Flavors in the Municipal Market of São Brás de Alportel” was planned, due to the pandemic, the municipality presented the presentation version, in digital edition and reduced format, which is available on the website of the municipality.
The full paper edition will soon be available for purchase to taste 75 recipes, out of a hundred proposals that were presented by Algarve chefs and other masters of flavors that passed through the stage of the São Brás de Alportel Municipal Market between 2011 and 2019.
“A book that we dedicate to our sellers and producers and to all those who continue to do their shopping at the Municipal Market, you are the soul and the raison d’être of this book!“, Observes the Mayor of São Brás de Alportel, Vitor Guerreiro.
The result could not be more tempting: quality, refinement, and flavor, in magnificent and so diverse creations, which sometimes remind us of the past, sometimes lead us to travel the world and often delight us with the fusion between tradition and innovation!
A work built and inspired by the fresh and local products that can be found in this market that even in this turbulent period continues to serve the community.
