Municipality of São Brás de Alportel distinguished
“Exemplary Water Quality Seal for Human Consumption”
The Municipality of São Brás de Alportel received this Tuesday, December 10, the “Exemplary Water Quality Seal for Human Consumption” awarded by the Regulatory Authority of Water and Waste Services (ERSAR), during the 14th Expo Water Conference which takes place in Lisbon until the 12th. ~
This national distinction is intended to highlight the entities providing public water supply services that in the last year of regulatory assessment have ensured an exemplary quality of water for human consumption.
“It is with great pride that we have received the honourable distinction, ‘Exemplary Water Quality Seal for Human Consumption 2019’, awarded by ERSAR. We work every day so that our citizens have access to safe and quality services ”, said the Mayor of São Brás de Alportel, Vitor Guerreiro, dedicating this award to all the employees of the municipality, whose work and dedication are owes this national distinction.
Compliance with the legal deadline for submission of the Water Quality Control Plan (PCQA) and water sample analysis, full compliance with the number of scheduled analyzes in the ERQS approved PCQA, compliance with or above 99% of the values The established parametric parameters, namely the bacterial level and the level of smell and taste, are necessary for the award of this prize.
The “Water and Waste Services Awards” are promoted by ERSAR in partnership with the newspaper Água & Ambiente and with the collaboration of entities representing the sector, namely: the Portuguese Water Distribution and Drainage Association (APDA), the Portuguese Engineering Association (APESB), the Portuguese Association of Water Resources (APRH), the Association for Waste Management (ESGRA), the Portuguese Association of Environmental Technology Enterprises (APEMETA) and the Portuguese Association for Consumer Protection (DECO) ).
An initiative aimed at highlighting the existence of a rigorous system for evaluating consumer services, which has the opportunity to get to know better the entities that provide them with the best services in different areas. The awarding of these awards also aims to raise awareness among the multi-municipal and municipal management entities about the quality issues in the design, implementation, management and operation of the systems.
