The globally acclaimed trio joins The National, Liam Gallagher and Xutos & Pontapés in the lineup of the Mundo Stage on the first day of the festival.
The reunion is scheduled for the 18th, 19th, 25th and 26th of June 2022, in an edition with 14 hours of entertainment a day, more music, new spaces and content and countless experiences.
In June of this year, four years after the last edition of Rock in Rio Lisboa, the festival will finally be back – and so will Muse!
The Festival Organization has just announced the name of the new headliner of its 9th edition, thus confirming the return of the British Muse to the City of Rock, for a concert that will mark (not only) the first day of the festival. The band will take to the Mundo Stage on June 18, performing in the place of the previously announced Foo Fighters.
This is the fourth time that the acclaimed trio will step onto the stage of Rock in Rio Lisboa after a sold out concert in the 2008 edition and two absolutely chilling performances in the 2010 and 2018 editions – the last edition of the festival before the pandemic. But the love story between Muse and the Portuguese public is older than that, going back to August 2000 – the year in which they played for the first time in the country.
Known for big hits like “Time is Running Out”, “Plug in Baby”, “Knights of Cydonia” and “Madness”, among many others, the British band, multiple GRAMMY winners, continues to conquer the world and, in the next month of June they will perform at Parque Bela Vista with a show that is expected to be ravishing. The public can expect a concert full of energy – as, by the way, it is already his hallmark – and a set list that should include his hits, in addition to songs from his next album, Will of the People, produced by the band members and which will be released during the month of August this year.
Remember that fans who already had a ticket purchased prior to the cancellation of Foo Fighters will be able to choose to keep their ticket, exchange it for one of the other three days of the festival or request a refund. All ticket information will be available at rockinriolisboa.sapo.pt from 25/04.
There will be 14 hours of entertainment a day, in what will be one of the most special editions of Rock in Rio Lisboa. In addition to a lineup full of stars, including The National, Liam Gallagher, Duran Duran, a-ha, Black Eyed Peas, Ellie Goulding, Post Malone, Anitta, Jason Derulo, who are now joined by Muse, the festival has six more stages in addition to the Mundo Stage (Galp Music Valley, Rock Your Street, Super Bock Digital Stage, Yorn Stage, Chef’s Stage and Game Stage), in addition to lots of street entertainment, comedy shows, shows of the latest phenomena in the digital world from podcasts to TikTokers, pool parties, a Ferris wheel with surprises and prizes, a slide flight over the clearing of Palco Mundo, food proposals from Portuguese chefs, a circuit with activities for families, various contents and names from the Gaming universe, dancing, and much more!
