Concerts of the Italian musician Eugenio Bennato and the Cape Verdean Santo Antão Sete Sois Band, acrobatic circus and an exhibition will mark the 26th Festival Sete Sóis Sete Luas in Odemira, between the 10 and 29 of September.
According to the Odemira Chamber, in the district of Beja, the festival offers, through which the municipality integrates the Sete Sóis Sete Luas Festival network, dedicated to the arts of the Mediterranean and the Portuguese-speaking world, are free and will take place in various village.
The festival will begin on the 10th at 3 pm at the Odemira Prison, with a reserved access concert by Eugenio Bennato, who will return to act on the 14th at 9.30 pm at Cineteatro Camacho Costa.
On the 15th, at 9:00 p.m., in the riverside area of ??the village, the acrobatic circus show ‘Triplette’, of the French company Les P’tits Bras, and at 10:00 p.m., a concert of Santo Antão Sete Sóis Band, in the Cineteatro Camacho Costa.
During the festival, between the 13th and 15th, the company Les P’tits Bras will hold an acrobatic circus laboratory with the theater companies of the county of Odemira.
On the last day of the festival, on the 29th, the exhibition of works of painting and sculpture by the Spanish painter Alfredo Martinez will be inaugurated at 18h00 in the Municipal Library of Odemira, which, between the 25th and 28th, will hold a painting laboratory with students from schools in the county.
The Festival Sete Sóis Sete Luas is part of the ‘Cultural September’ initiative of this year, which the Chamber of Odemira will offer next month to promote the culture and heritage of the oral, artistic and patrimonial of the county and provide the population with different cultural manifestations.
In addition to the festival, the initiative will include the final concert of the 3rd Stage of Winds and Percussion of Southwest Alentejano, energized by the Odemira Philharmonic Band, on Saturday at 21:30 in Praça da República, and celebrations of 18 years of the Municipal Library of Odemira, between the 04 and 06 of September.
The festivities in honor of N.ªªªªª da Piedade, patroness of Odemira, on the 7th and 8th, commemorations of the Municipality Day, on the 8th, municipal holiday, and the outdoor painting initiative ‘Arte na Rua ‘, on the 15th and 16th, are other offers.
The event will also include the ‘Quintas no Quintal’ event, with concerts by Luiz Caracol on the 13th of the GC Atelier de Música on the 20th, and Sound Mandalas with Harida, Tarika and Ashik on the 27th, at the Backyard of Music.
Following are two film sessions for the screening of Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again on 21 and MEG: Giant Shark on 22nd at Cineteatro Camacho Costa at 9:30 p.m.
The Amador Theater Festival, with performances by theater groups from the county, between the 28th and 30th, at the Cineteatro Camacho Costa and at the municipal library, the European Heritage Days at the Misericórdia church, and the presentation of the book ‘Israel’ , by the writer Luis Novais, in the municipal library, on the 28th, are the other offers of the ‘Cultural September’ initiative.
