Music and online exhibition to mark Europe Day in Portugal

The initiative is the result of the work of more than 100 people.

The Rewind project includes, according to the initiative’s curator, João Vaz Silva, in a communiqué released today, unpublished creations, ordered or adapted for this occasion.

The program started at 14:00 (Lisbon time) with Free Readings. In the official account of the Portuguese office of the European Parliament will be shared “statements or personal stories” of “a group of people from different professions who never stopped working on the ground – nurses, traders, postmen, journalists, truck drivers, cooks, police, among others. others”.

At 4:00 pm, “a group of European citizens read the first verses of Canto I of ‘Os Lusi´adas'”.

At 6:00 pm, the opening of an exhibition curated by the artistic intervention platform Mistaker Maker, founded by Lara Seixo Rodrigues, is scheduled. Nine artists were invited to create a work from scratch, around the theme ‘Rewind’ – resilience, solidarity, hope.

The works will be shown on a ‘website’ to open on Saturday, and the link will be made available on the official website of the European Parliament.

The show, which brings together works of ± lesser ± (Miguel Januário), Aheneah, Catarina Glam, Mantraste, Pantónio, Raquel Belli, Tamara Alves, The Empty Belly and Tiago Galo, will be open until June 10.

At 8:00 pm Radio Normal, from Batida (Pedro Coquenão), will be on the air, with a “special … normal, one hour broadcast with PLOP music [Portuguese Speaking Countries] and whose main objective is to bring Radio physically closer. of those who hear it and try to be perfectly normal “.

This broadcast, produced for the occasion and illustrated with images of the house and Rua de Batida, is hosted on the European Parliament’s YouTube channel and on the artist’s Facebook.

In the program, Batida will debut a new theme: “Esperança / Hope”, with a ‘afro-house’ sound, which repeats the same word in all European languages.

At 9:30 pm, singer Selma Uamusse interprets the theme “Hope”, accompanied by Gospel Collective in the choirs. Each of the singers recorded their part at home and the final result will be shown on the European Parliament’s YouTube channel.

The project ends at 22:00, also on the European Parliament’s YouTube channel, with Bruno Pernadas, who will present an unprecedented composition, along with eight more musicians (those who usually accompany him live) from their homes.
