‘Amália, Dona de Si – o Musical’ takes the stage at the Coliseu dos Recreios, in Lisbon, on January 29, 2023. The show has the special participation of Marcha do Castelo, in one of the musical moments. Tickets are already on sale at BOL.pt and at the usual places.
With direction and dramaturgy by Jaime Monsanto and interpretation by Diogo Carvalho, ‘Amália, Dona de Si – o Musical‘ is a journey through Amália’s career, recalling, for example, her strong connection to popular culture and Lisbon. On stage, in a show with live music, the actor appears accompanied by Pedro Ferreira on piano, Filipe Ferreira on double bass and Ricardo Silva on Portuguese guitar, in addition to the Marcha do Castelo.
‘Amália, Dona de Si – o Musical‘ is a show that takes us to the discovery of a fascinating and enigmatic woman, her dreams, fears, anxieties, her life and her artistic choices. The script for this project was supported by the Amália Rodrigues Foundation. “Amália, Dona de Si – The Musical is a way for the Portuguese to remember not only the artist Amália but also the woman Amália, missing her voice, present in the show, and her eternal figure that inspires and fascinates us with her experience , energy and sense of humor. It is with great pride that the Amália Rodrigues Foundation supports this show, which is a worthy tribute to one of the most important personalities of Portuguese Culture”, says Vicente Rodrigues, President of the Amália Rodrigues Foundation.
