Musicbox Lisboa celebrates 18 years with a party not to be missed

Musicbox Lisboa, one of the most iconic clubs in the city’s cultural life, is preparing to celebrate its 18th anniversary with a party that will last five days, from December 4 to 8. The programming will feature concerts every day starting at 9 PM and clubbing from midnight.

According to CTL, the cultural organization responsible for the venue, the program narrative for the 18 years of Musicbox is essentially based on the idea of encounters. For 18 years, Musicbox has been a place for meetings between fans of live music and the artists who take the stage at the Cais do Sodré venue, providing its audience with close and accessible contact with the most vibrant contemporary music, both nationally and internationally.

This idea of encounters is also reflected in the programming of the artists featured in this celebration: unusual moments of sharing on stage are created among various generations, sounds, and realities. B Fachada plays with Romeu Bairos; the Cape Verdean collective Fidju Kitxora invites Elida Almeida, Suzana, and Mynda Guevara to the stage; Dealema with Azia; Black Bombaim with Pedro Alves Sousa; and finally, the Conjunto Cuca Monga, which comes together on stage again, not without first gathering Jasmim, A Sul, and Gorjão.

In addition to the mentioned encounters, the 18th-anniversary party of Musicbox will also feature opening moments by important entities for the national independent music scene, DJ sets that also promote collaborations, such as a session from Filho Único with DJ Fantasia, the DJ set from Tabanka Records with Mama Demba, the DJ set of Hip Hop Sou Eu, and the DJ set of Lovers & Lollypops.

Concluding the programming, on the nights of December 5, 6, 7, and 8, there will be clubbing starting at midnight, with names like Xavbeatz, Soundpreta, João Gomes, Lady G Brown, Mike Stellar, King Kami, and A Missa do Papi.
