Najwa Nimri and Alba Planas to Star in Prime Video Original Film Hildegart

Najwa Nimri (A Casa de Papel, Vis a vis) and Alba Planas (Días mejores, Skam España) will star in the upcoming Prime Video original film Hildegart, playing the roles of Aurora and Hildegart Rodríguez Caballeira respectively.

Aixa Villagrán (La chica de nieve, En los Márgenes) will be in the role of Macarena, Patrick Aciman (Bajo cero, Antidisturbios) will be Abel Vilella and Pepe Viyuela (García y García, La caza. Monteperdido) will be Guzmán, completing the cast of film that will be available in over 240 countries and territories around the world as part of a Prime membership.

Hildegart is conceived and educated by her mother Aurora to be the woman of the future, becoming one of the brightest minds in Spain in the 1930s and one of the European references in female sexuality. At the age of 18, Hildegart begins to experience freedom and meets Abel Vilella (Patrick Raised), who helps her explore a new emotional world and free herself from her mother’s iron bond. Aurora, in turn, fears losing control over her daughter and does everything to prevent Hildegart from leaving. The two women faced each other one summer night in 1933 putting an end to “Project Hildegart.”

Hildegart is a film based on true events that mixes historical drama, romance, thriller and a touch of true crime, and will start filming soon in Madrid. Hildegart is directed by Paula Ortiz (La novia, De tu ventana a la mía), produced by María Zamora of Elastica Film and Stefan Schmitz of Avalon, and features Eduard Sola and Clara Roquet as screenwriters.

Hildegart will join thousands of TV shows and movies from Prime Video’s catalogue, including Iberian series like Operation Maré Negra, or Portuguese sports documentaries like Factory of Dreams: Benfica, as well as international hits like O Senhor dos Anéis: Os Anéis of Power, The Peripheral, The Terminal List, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, The Wheel of Time, The Boys, Homecoming, Good Omens and Reacher, and thousands of hours of licensed content.
