The Gente album presentation concert is this Friday, March 8th, coinciding with the celebration of International Women’s Day.
From 8 pm onwards, the São Luiz Teatro Municipal, in Lisbon, will be a stage for meetings and the crossing of “people” from Cape-Verde, Brazil, Guinea Bissau, Angola, and Portugal and will feature the participation of special guests such as collective Acácia Maior, Amélia Muge, Fogo Fogo, Mário Lúcio, Martín Sued, Paulo Flores and Remna.
On stage, the Cape Verdean singer will be supported by Vaiss, on acoustic guitar and cavaquinho, Olmo Marín on acoustic, electric guitar and cavaquinho, Jorge Cervantes, on bass and charango, and also Iúri Oliveira, on percussion.
The concert on March 8th will be the public’s first contact with the new songs from Gente, successor to Manhã Florida, whose release date will be March 15th (under the auspices of Galileo Music). Two breakthrough singles are already known from this new album, “Sol Di Nha Vida”, written by Mário Lúcio, and “Singa”, a duet with Guinean composer, Remna.
Gente is a co-production by Amélia Muge and José Martins.
