National champion trashed Marítimo in Alvalade (5-1)
Sporting received and thrashed Marítimo 5-1, in the 34th and last round of the League.
Already a national champion, the team entered the field to take Pedro Gonçalves to the title of best scorer, goal achieved with a hat-trick of the midfielder, at 7′, 20′ and 62′ minutes. Karo’s own goal, at 21′, and Gonzalo Plata (75′) gave even more expression to the easy victory of Rúben Amorim’s team. At minute 89, the islanders reduced by Beltrame.
Sporting ends the season as champion and 85 points, five ahead of FC Porto, while Marítimo finishes the league in 15th place, with 35 points.
