“Nazaré: Where Giants Are Born” premieres tonight on SIC Radical and Opto SIC

The documentary series “Nazaré: Where Giants Are Born”, a production of Blanche Filmes in partnership with Red Bull Studios and directed by Pedro Varela, arrives tonight on SIC Radical at 11:25 PM, and on OPTO SIC, SIC’s streaming platform.

With 5 episodes of over 30 minutes each, the series delves unfiltered into the world of giant waves in Nazaré. Throughout this journey, we follow athletes such as Lucas Chumbo, Kai Lenny, Justine Dupont, Pedro Scooby, and Andrew Cotton, as well as new talents trying to prove they deserve a place in the most intense lineup on the planet. Between Portugal, Brazil, and Hawaii, we see tough training, thrilling wipeouts, split-second decisions, and behind-the-scenes footage rarely seen by the public.

Filmed over two years, “Nazaré: Where Giants Are Born” brings together stunning images and a very human perspective on surfers, rescue teams, and the community that transformed Nazaré into a global phenomenon. The journey culminates in the WSL championship, when the village becomes the largest natural stage for giant waves.

Starting today, there’s a new episode every Friday on SIC Radical, always at 11:25 PM. On OPTO SIC, two episodes premiere today at the same time, followed by a new episode each week.
