The men’s category includes several medal names this year in European or World Championships, such as world judo champion Jorge Fonseca, Beijing 2008 Olympic champion Nelson Évora in the Triple Salto, or Fernando Pimenta, medalist in the canoeing world championships.
The list also includes names such as Jordan Santos (beach soccer), João Sousa (tennis), Miguel Oliveira (motorcycle), Júlio Ferreira and Rui Bragança (taekwondo), Gilberto Duarte (handball), Frederico Morais (surf) or Ângelo Girão ( hockey), besides Abílio Valente, in bocce, among many others.
