Nélson Veríssimo takes charge of Benfica

Bruno Lage officially said goodbye to the technical command of Benfica, a place that is now occupied by assistant Nélson Veríssimo.

The officials of SAD incarnate still plan the definitive solution for the technical command of the eagles, but until the decision is reached the solution in the short term will be different.

Nélson Veríssimo will guide the team in the coming days, and on the sidelines of training he will also be able to sit on the bench in the next Benfica match for the championship, against Boavista, on the 30th round.

Veríssimo, currently 43 years old, has been in Luz since the 2012/13 season, always as assistant coach. As a player he also represented Benfica, reaching the main team in 1995.
