Projects by the writer Luísa Costa Gomes and the artist Vhils are among the 10 winners of the Netflix contest with ICA
The ten winning projects of the contest to support script writing for authors in Portugal, promoted by the Netflix platform with the Instituto do Cinema e do Audiovisual (ICA) have already been announced.
Supported with six thousand euros were “Paradoxa” by Luísa Costa Gomes, “Paredes Brancas, Povo Mundo”, by Vhils, André Costa, Catarina Crua and Ricardo Oliveira, “Barranco dos Cegos” by Luís Filipe Rocha, “Cleptocracia” by João Brandão , and “This is not a kanga” by João Nuno Pinto, Fernanda Polacow and Bruno Morais Cabral.
The remaining five winning projects will be supported with 25 thousand euros, they are “Finisterra” by Guilherme Branquinho and Leone Niel, “My name is Jorge: A redemption story” by Sofia Pinto Coelho, “O boss Jacob” by Raquel Palermo and João Lacerda Matos, “Rabo de Peixe” by Augusto Fraga, Marcos Castiel and André Szankowski, and “Victoria” by Dinis M. Costa.
The jury that pre-selected the projects included Netflix’s content director, Verónica Fernández, the communication assistant for the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Luís Proença, the writer Possidónio Cachapa, the journalist Isabel Lucas and the director Jorge Paixão da Costa.
