Netherlands hosts the Eurovision Song Contest with 3,500 spectators

The Dutch executive’s intention is to organize the Eurovision show as part of the “Fieldlab Events” investigations that are already being developed in football matches and concerts.

Scientific investigations consist of practical experiments that intend to investigate how to organize high-profile events safely in the face of the SARS CoV-2 pandemic, reported the Dutch television station NOS.

A maximum of 3,500 people can be present at the nine concerts provided for in the Eurovision contest – six rehearsals, two semifinals, and the final – at the same time.

To this end, spectators must have a negative PCR to enter the Ahoy center in Rotterdam.

After the 2020 edition was canceled in May of last year, the organizers of the Eurovisão festival, in which Portugal participates, have been working in the last months in four possible scenarios to carry out the event safely, from the point of view Restroom.

Thus, the work has been concerned with how to receive delegations from the 39 participating countries in Rotterdam, with sanitary measures such as the use of protective masks, compliance with quarantine periods and medical tests (PCR).

In the coming weeks, the festival organization hopes to be able to provide further clarification on how it will receive the audience for the song festival, which takes place between the 18th and the 22nd of May, and how the tickets for the show will be sold.
