After its first appearance, as a concept Urban EV, at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, the first units of Honda’s 100% electric vehicle, the Honda e, have already reached the national market.
The Honda e represents the brand’s vision for simplified urban mobility, standing out for its minimalist and retro-futuristic design, reminiscent of the physiognomy of other iconic Honda models. With regard to design, the design of this model is centered on functionality and ease of use; Honda and has a compact, minimalist and modern design.
Honda e integrates several cutting-edge disruptive technologies and intelligent advanced connectivity functions so that occupants stay connected to everyday life. This model defines the new technological standards of the compact electric vehicle segment, with intuitive information and entertainment services and connectivity applications perfectly integrated into the user’s modern lifestyle, accessed by the two touch screens.
Its interactive technology, represented by the replacement of traditional rearview mirrors with high definition cameras, offering a 360º view, and by its interactive digital panel with 5 screens, make Honda a model with an approach centered on the human being and the current view it has on mobility, that is, as a service and not as a product.
The Central Rearview Mirror System can be connected to transmit the image of a rear central camera in the interior rearview mirror, increasing safety and comfort, especially if the driver’s rear field of view is obstructed by passengers or cargo. Another new piece of equipment is the Honda Parking Pilot parking sensor system, which provides more assistance to the driver, monitoring parking spaces and highlighting the most suitable position on HMI screens to start parking maneuvers without driver intervention.
The Honda e has a high-performance electric motor offering excellent torque and is one of the most compact in its segment. Honda e Advance offers up to 154 hp (113 kW) of power and an impressive torque of 315 Nm, enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.3 seconds.
The entry-level Honda ehas 136 hp (100 kW) and the same torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 9.0 seconds.
It also has a dynamic performance that gives you instant and exciting driving pleasure, rear-wheel drive, and a turning radius of 4.3 m, making it a perfect vehicle for city driving.
The Honda e is equipped with the HONDA SENSING safety package that includes three new functions, these being the Lead Car Departure Notification System that notifies the driver when the car in front starts; the Collision Mitigation Throttle Control that prevents sudden accelerations in reverse or when starting, in the event of an obstacle on the way; and finally, the Low Speed Brake Function that applies emergency braking when driving at low speed.
Honda’s new city electric is part of the brand’s strategy for the full electrification of its range in Europe by 2022.
The Honda e is available in Portugal from € 36,000 with a 7-year warranty with no mileage limit and 8 years or 160,000 km of battery warranty. As a launch campaign, the model is available with a monthly income of 299 € with financing and also the offer of type 2 charging cable.
