New season of the National Ballet Company opens today in Luxembourg

The inaugural performance of the new season of the National Ballet Company (CNB) will take place today in Luxembourg, featuring “Fifteen Dancers and Tempo Uncertain” by Rui Lopes Graça, as part of the company’s international tour.

CNB has indicated that the show, for the 2018/2019 season, is scheduled for 20.00 (19.00 in Lisbon) at the Grand Théâtre, in Luxembourg.

“Fifteen Dancers and Time Uncertain” has artistic direction by João Penalva and choreography by Rui Lopes Graça, with light drawing by Nuno Meira.

The season opens in Portugal on October 11, with Akram Khan’s “Itmoi – In the mind of Igor” by the British choreographer born in Bangladesh, inspired by references to composer Igor Stravinsky, a piece debuted in Portugal last year, by the CNB.

The Minister of Culture, Luís Filipe Castro Mendes, who will be in Luxembourg and will attend the show, visits before 12:45, João Penalva’s exhibition at the Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean (MUDAM).

Then visit the exhibition “Du Portugal au Luxembourg” at the Musée National d’Histoire et d’Art and the exhibition “Cousins ​​Germains” by Vasco Futscher at the Portuguese-Camões Cultural Center.
