Fulfilling the tradition, São Brás de Alportel receives the new year, to the sound of the chords of the Philharmonic Band, at the 7th edition New Year’s Concert and marks a meeting with the community, next Sunday, 19th, by 4:30 pm at the Mother Church.
This concert aims to publicize the work of this band, in the context of training musicians and audiences, as well as wish a good year to all through music.
Dedicated to programmatic and film music, this year’s concert features guest singers Cristina Paulo and Vitória Pedro. They have known voices from the Algarve vocal panorama and join the Philharmonic in two sung songs.
In addition to the collaboration with the singers, the Philharmonic will feature some original descriptive band works and adaptations of well-known themes from music to film. A repertoire of various musical styles and genres will be presented, not forgetting the traditional Radetzky march. Admission is free.
This event is supported by the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel and the Parish, which once again opens the doors of its Parish Church to host cultural events that are already a reference in the annual calendar.
