Niall Horan releases first album in three years – “The Show”

the 9th of june

“The Show”, Niall Horan’s third solo album and his first studio album since 2020s hugely successful “Heartbreak Weather”, will be released on June 9th.

The album is already available for pre-order at Fnac, and in the meantime, Horan has released the first single,Heaven”. The musician wrote the song with John Ryan and Joel Little, who also produced it, and Tobias Jesso Jr. (Adele, Sia) during an idyllic trip to the Mojave Desert in Southern California.

Niall Horan said: “One thing I’ve learned over the years is that society loves to push you to reach certain milestones when you reach a certain age. Whether it’s getting married or anything else that really should be based on our instincts. As I got older, I tried to let go of those expectations and follow my heart. The chorus of this song says that what I have in my life right now is amazing. So it would be crazy to ruin that to give in to outside pressures.”

Fans who pre-order “The Show” digitally will immediately receive the single “Heaven”. Five vinyl versions of the album are also available, each with a different color, a front and back cover, and a collector’s box, all available for pre-order.

Next Wednesday, Horan will appear on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” and will also join “The Voice” as a mentor. He recently appeared on “The Late Late Show with James Corden”. See the interview here. This summer, Horan will also go to several festivals, having already scheduled his return to Portugal, with a concert on 9 August at MEO Sudoeste.

Throughout “The Show” Horan combines the pure emotion of the work so far with a new kind of sharp reflection. Built on a lush, radiant alt-pop style, much of the album’s mesmerizing power comes from its use of harmonies – an element inspired by Crosby, Stills & Nash, Jackson Browne, and other members of Laurel Canyon’s 1960s/1970s music scene. John Ryan and Joel Little were the executive producers of “The Show”. Watch the album trailer HERE.

Born in Mullingar, Ireland, Horan has sold over 80 million records and toured the world extensively as part of the iconic One Direction. His solo debut, “Flicker”, entered the Billboard top 200 in October 2017, and the singles “Slow Hands” (Triple Platinum in the US) and “This Town” were part of the album. (Double Platinum in the US). The album reached the top 10 in 20 countries in total. “Flicker” has over 8 billion combined streams and has been certified platinum in five countries (including the US) and gold in seven other countries. This was followed in 2020 by the album “Heartbreak Weather” which topped the UK and Billboard album sales charts. Now, Niall Horan enters a new phase of his career with “The Show”, a body of work born out of his longstanding mission to forge a close relationship with his global community of passionate and dedicated fans.
