The Somersby Stage of Super Bock Super Rock is already known for bringing to Portugal names that are among the best dance music in the world and this year will be no exception, with the confirmation of two DJ sets conducted by Jungle, on July 16, and by Nick Murphy, the artist formerly known as Chet Faker, on July 17th.
JUNGLE DJ SET
The Jungles resulted from the meeting between two childhood friends, Tom McFarland and Josh Lloyd-Watson. The two had lived close to each other since the age of nine, in Shepherds Bush, London, and soon began to share the same passion for music. In 2013 this sharing started to become more serious, with the creation of the Jungle project – from that moment on, music became the most important thing for both and McFarland and Lloyd-Watson became known only as J and T At the concerts, there were seven Jungles, thus contributing to each performance becoming a unique moment, very difficult to forget. The success in the studio, after editing two incredible albums, did not prevent them from returning to their performance as a DJ set, showing an authentic kaleidoscope of electronic influences while feeling like the pulse of each dance floor, anywhere, like no one else. of the world. At the forefront of the best dance music of the past few years, Jungle continues to make magic wherever they go – and will pass through Portugal, on July 16, at the Somersby Stage of Super Bock Super Rock.
NICK MURPHY DJ SET
Nick Murphy is the artist formerly known as Chet Faker. When editing his second album, Nick spent four years traveling the world, alone, with a microphone in his backpack and always ready to record his voice in the most varied circumstances, inspired by the multiple environments in which he found himself. Success as Chet Faker makes him one of the most relevant musicians of recent times, but Nick is not an artist who feels comfortable in the shadow of his own success and continues to look for new challenges and answers to a series of questions that act as levers. for your artistic production. This self-examination turned into a penetrating and kaleidoscopic disc called “Run Fast Sleep Naked”. Produced by Dave Harrington, this is yet another record that proves Murphy’s genius. After the acclaimed “Built on Glass” and “Missing Link”, the musician reinvented himself, adding new sounds and recording an album that, according to Rolling Stone magazine, is between “old school soul” and “new school” soul ”. Nick Murphy’s irreproachable taste is also at the service of the public in his hypnotic DJ Set, and the Portuguese public will be able to witness that (and dance), on the Somersby Stage of Super Bock Super Rock, on July 17th.
