Nick Murphy, formerly Chet Faker, returns to Portugal in October

Artist Nick Murphy, previously presented as Chet Faker, announced his return to Portugal for two concerts in Lisbon and Porto, where he will present his latest work, ‘Run Fast Sleep Naked’, was released today.

Tickets for both shows will be available next Friday, March 15, from 27 euros, at the usual outlets.

After several shows throughout Europe, including Portugal, the Australian returns on October 1st and 2nd, for two concerts, in the coliseums of Lisbon and Oporto, respectively.

According to the organization, this “sweeping” album results from four years of travel around the world, with only a microphone and a suitcase, during which the musician was inspired by the places and environments where he passed.

During this period, the singer, producer, and musician of Melbourne underwent a “deep self-analysis”, compiling in this “hypnotizing album” some of the answers he sought, the organizers add.

Co-produced by Dave Harrington and mixed by Murphy and Phil Weinrobe, ‘Run Fast Sleep Naked’ is the latest in a series of works, including the ‘Missing Link’ EP (2017) and debut album ‘Built on Glass’ (2014 ), which reached Platinum and gave the artist seven ARIA Music awards, including in the categories of Best Male Artist and Producer of the Year.

Although much of the sounds and voice of this album were captured in different environments around the world, the musical component was recorded in Brooklyn, where Murphy performed more than 20 sessions to join his musicians an orchestra, thus soaking each theme of the new work with “unexpected textures and varied and surprising tones”.

Among the various environments visited by the musician and brought to this album are varied places such as Grandma’s living room, a studio in Tokyo, a house in New Zealand where she used to spend a family vacation or her own apartment in New York.

Tickets for both shows have prices starting at 27 euros.

Recently the artist has joined a project called PLUS1, which seeks to be a catalyst for social and cultural change through equality, dignity, and access to all. In this sense, one euro of the value of each ticket will revert to organizations that are part of this mission.
