After an absence of almost a year in terms of phonographic editions (the last single “Forever” is from November 17, 2023), Noble returns with a new image and sound clothes, in a more soul and rock recording recorded at Arda Recorders (Porto) by producer João André (Miguel Araújo, Nena, Bárbara Tinoco among others).
Noble even says to us “This song is the beginning of a new era for me. It’s turning the page on something new. I feel that, just as I felt a desire to reinvent myself as an artist, my sound was also dragged into this change”. But never denying the past, the Portuguese artist states that this partnership, as producer João André, was something desired ” … until now I had only worked with Rui. And we made great songs together. Rui was, from the beginning, an essential element in my creativity and maybe that’s why I felt the need to work with new people to find a new sound for me. The sound I wanted to find now. Although we had a mutual curiosity to work with each other, me and João André had not yet had this opportunity and as soon as it arose I grabbed it because there is nothing better than working with someone who does not know us, who still does not know what our “vices” as an artist. João André helped me to find things I wanted but didn’t know how to access”.
Another change in production level was the location of the recordings of this new single “Gone (all over again)” “This song was recorded at Arda Recorders, in Porto – where I will record the rest of the album – and it was a surreal experience for me! I recorded live, with an amazing band following me and the energy of that room was contagious. My friend Diana Martinez left her voice at our disposal and made the arrangements and choirs that helped to take this song to this soul sound, with the influence of Gospel music that inspired me so much throughout my life. And all this while João André was piloting this spaceship that, for a moment, took me to another planet”, tells us Noble.
Although we have not had access to new editions of Noble on the digital platforms, it does not mean that the singer and composer have been stopped. On the contrary, this summer and autumn, he did a series of concerts in mainland Portugal and the Azores, with the band and for the first time solo “The concerts are a vital part for me. It’s where things make sense. It’s where the music happens. 2024 was a year to change that part too. I formatted my songs for more raw versions, with more guitars, and a sound with more influence from my inspirations always. I also created a solo concert, where I’m just with my guitar and voice (and occasionally a piano) and I’m more focused on talking and meeting the people who are watching me than actually singing these songs. It’s a very emotional concert and it has been more and more fun to do it, I feel like 16 again when I’m on stage so alone”.
“Gone (all over again)” is now available on digital platforms.
