Two weeks before its start, the North Festival – the country’s first major festival – has just sold out tickets for the VIP area. For three consecutive days, May 24th, 25th and 26th, Parque de Serralves will host the sixth edition of the Festival which, on the first day, will highlight Latin music.
Nininho Vaz Maia will be in charge of inaugurating the main stage of the festival, followed by Spanish singer Iñigo Quintero, Argentine Maria Becerra and Puerto Rican artist Myke Towers. The most anticipated moment of the day will be Alejandro Sanz, a Spanish sensation who will make the audience vibrate with hits such as “Corazón Partío” and “Amiga mía”.
The second day of the event, May 25th, kicks off with performances by the Portuguese band Plaza and the British band The Reytons, followed by ballad specialists Birdy and Tom Odell. Keane – who are celebrating two decades of their most successful album Hopes and Fears –, headliners of the day, close Saturday night with a “golden key”.
On the last day, May 26th, the North Festival will be invaded by Brazilian culture, with performances by Wiu, Bell Marques, Claudia Leitte and Grupo Menos é Mais. Nelly Furtado will close the main stage of the sixth edition of the Festival, a performance that marks the long-awaited return of the Portuguese-Canadian singer to Portugal, 20 years after releasing “Força”, the Euro 2004 anthem.
SUNSET STAGE HOSTS MEXICAN DOUBLE BROLORIZO
The 2024 edition of the North Festival will present, for the first time, the Sunset Stage, where electronic music will be the star. The Mexican duo composed of producer and vocalist Estefani Brolo and guitarist and vocalist Ana Rizo promises to make the public vibrate to the sound of new rhythms, as well as Lisbon producer and DJ James Flower, the official RFM DJs Rich & Mendes and, also, the Bitch Boys, a duo composed of brothers Paulo and Simão Praça.
