North Festival the first festival of the year

May 26th to 28th, at Alfândega do Porto

The Chemical Brothers, Ivete Sangalo, and Robbie Williams are the headliners at the event, which also hosts Pedro Abrunhosa or Jafumega.

The countdown to the North Festival – which takes place from the 26th to the 28th of May, at Alfândega do Porto – has already begun. The montages are in full swing so that, in exactly one week, the first major festival of the year will open its doors to festival-goers who will be able to see and hear more than a dozen national and international artists. The Chemical Brothers, Ivete Sangalo, and Robbie Williams are the headliners on May 26th, 27th and 28th, respectively.

The first day of the festival opens to the sound of the Porto band Jáfumega – who are celebrating their 45-year career on the North Festival stage –, a performance scheduled for 5:45 pm. Two more performances with a national seal follow, with Trabalhadores do Comércio, starting at 7.10 pm, and The Legendary Tigerman, at 8.30 pm. The Colombian band Bomba Estéreo, who promise to infect the public with their hot rhythms, take the stage at 9:55 pm. The British duo The Chemical Brothers, which closes the first day of the Festival, has an appointment with festival-goers at 00:00.

Ivete Sangalo celebrates her 51st birthday on stage at North Festival

On Saturday, May 27th, Nininho Vaz Maia will perform at 7 pm, warmly opening the musical line-up for the second day of the Festival. This is followed by a concert by Ana Castela – one of the most-heard voices in Brazil right now. “Boiadeira”, “Pipoco” and “Roça em Mim” are just some of the hits that will be sung at Alfândega do Porto from 20:20. At 9:55 pm, it is the turn of Gustavo Mioto – a singer who was one of those selected in the “Music” category of the Forbes Brazil list, in 2020, thanks to the success of “Com ou Sem Mim” – to take the stage with a privileged view over the Douro River. The night closes with one of the most acclaimed names in Brazilian music: Ivete Sangalo. The performance of the Brazilian artist, who celebrates her 51st birthday on the stage of the North Festival, is scheduled for 11:35 pm.

Robbie Williams returns to Portugal

On a Sunday marked by three concerts by Portuguese artists, the last day of the Festival begins to the sound of the voice of Tiago Nacarato, who performs at 6:15 pm. This is followed by a performance by The Black Mamba, who take the stage at 7:30 pm. Pedro Abrunhosa – an unavoidable name in Portuguese culture and one of the most beloved musicians in Invicta – returns to the North Festival stage, after his presence in the first edition of the event. The performance is scheduled for 20:55. Robbie Williams closes, with a golden key, the fifth edition of the Festival. On this return to Portugal, the singer will offer fans a concert celebrating his 25th anniversary, during which the public will be able to relive some of the great songs that catapulted him to the limelight. The performance is scheduled for 23:00.

Remember that the North Festival also has a clubbing stage, which will guarantee entertainment, at the end of the night, to the sound of the best DJs of today. The poster and line-up for the concerts can be consulted at www.northmusicfestival.com.

North Festival: Much more than a music festival

Promoted by Vibes & Beats, the North Festival – “urban and eclectic” – offers, this year, a set of novelties, namely the VIP Experience, which has an exclusive entrance and a privileged view of the stage and which will provide a unique experience to festival-goers. The exclusive space has a backdrop that has the Douro River as a backdrop. It is in this area that the sunset stage is located, the ideal place to spend the late afternoon with friends, to the sound of the best beats, creating truly unforgettable moments. The space will also have catering and personalized bars and restricted bathrooms, in order to ensure maximum comfort and safety. This premium experience will give you access to familiar boat trips.

On the festival grounds, there is a food court, a space exclusively designed for street food operators, which combines rustic and contemporary flavors with wine experiences. The North Festival will also have a lounge area where festival-goers can find barbers, tattoo artists, make-up artists, and many other surprises.
