About the Summer Festivals Marathon

The Summer Festivals Marathon – Ranking Cision is a study carried out on an ongoing basis by Cision, which analyzes the evolution of the media coverage of various music festivals held in Portugal throughout the year.

The work carried out by Cision within the scope of festivals was recognized in the third edition of the Iberian Festival Awards, where Cision was distinguished with the Iberian ‘Best Service Provider’ award.

The media performance achieved by each festival is calculated taking into account the Cision communication evaluation methodology, which considers the number of news identified, the space or airtime occupied, and the viewing opportunities taking into account the audiences reached.

The object of analysis of this study is all the news relating to the different festivals, broadcast in the Portuguese editorial space, in more than two thousand media (television, radio, online and press). In this case, the ranking reflects the result from July 1st to 31st, 2023, with the different festivals being ordered by the position achieved.

Data relating to social networks was measured using the Brandwatch platform, a company within the Cision group, a global leader in digital consumer intelligence and social media monitoring. Brandwatch uses the latest artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to structure and extract value from the opinions of millions of social media users.
