New version of Edge improves tab and password management

Microsoft announces the arrival of version 88 of the Chromium-based Edge browser, bringing to the public several features that have been tested in recent months.

The main novelties concern the management and alerts of keywords, synchronization of navigation tabs between various devices and a way to hibernate the tabs that are not in use, as a way to consume less resources.

Edge 88 debuts Password Monitor, already announced in March 2020 and which is a system that notifies users if credentials that have been saved for automatic filling appear in cybercriminal repositories on the Dark Web.

Also with regard to keywords, the new version has a password generator that proposes complex combinations and saves them in the user’s Office or School account, if the synchronization option is active.

This generator is available for Windows 7, 8, 10 and macOS users. The Monitor works only for Windows 7, 8 or 10 users who are inside your Microsoft account, explains ZDNet.

This new version of Edge offers users a smart mosaic for Outlook, which allows them to see incoming emails directly in navigation. To better manage system resources, the user can hibernate some of the tabs he has open.

The browsing history and tabs will now be synchronized between different devices, just being within the Microsoft account and with this option active.
