New collaborative festival starts today

July 3, 4 and 5 in 7 cities: Lisbon, Porto, Coimbra, Funchal, Viseu, Évora and Leiria

CURVA is the name of the first collaborative festival in Portugal, which takes place from today until July 5, in more than 12 venues spread across more than 7 national cities. There will be 60 artists in 3 days of inclusive, decentralised and free programming.

The CURVA schedules have already been announced and can be checked not only above but also on Circuito’s official networks. CURVA emerges as a direct response to the work being done by Circuito, the main network dedicated to the appreciation and development of venues and clubs with their own live popular music programming in Portugal and which has 17 spaces across the country. It recently presented its 2023 Activity Report, which presented several challenges facing the live music industry in Portugal.

The first edition of CURVA also comes about in this context, and is the culmination of a project with three complementary phases: training, creation of a manual of good practices and the festival.

The two essential points of the CURVA programme are: greater inclusivity in the proposed artistic projects and greater decentralisation of the shows. The creation of this event also marks the first time that so many national venues have come together in a joint and coordinated effort to create a consciously curated programme, so that from 3 to 5 July 12 venues around Portugal will host the shows, they are: B.Leza (Lisbon), Lounge (no physical space) Damas (Lisbon), Lux Frágil (Lisbon), Maus Hábitos (Porto), Musicbox (Lisbon), Salão Brazil (Coimbra), Socorro (Porto), Barreirinha Bar Café (Funchal), Carmo 81 (Viseu), SHE (Évora) and Texas (Leiria).
