New emerging music festival in Seixal
Today, December 9th, Sociedade Filarmónica União Seixalense hosts the first edition of Seixal Terno, a new emerging music festival that promotes independent and alternative projects from the Portuguese music scene.
«At the forefront of cultural creation, promotion, and dissemination, Seixal now has a new festival that aims to promote new projects and that results from the creativity and dynamics of youth», says the mayor of Seixal, Paulo Silva.
On stage will be Península, a collective with influences within funk, soul, indie, jazz and rock n’ roll; Safari Zone, an original English-language band with indie, indie-rock, psychedelic-rock and space-rock inspirations; Chico Cézar, a young artist who promises a new pop with nostalgic sounds; Conjunto Júlio, with four boys who put together Portuguese poems set to new and old soundscapes and, closing the proposals for this first edition, Humana Taranja, a group that «brings in the bag the tranquility of songs that float on less agitated waters» .
Seixal Terno is the result of an idea by four young people from the municipality, who saw the municipality as the ideal partner to boost and bring this new artistic project to the stage.
Entry to the show costs 5 euros. Doors open at 6:30 pm.
