Mariana Reis released today her latest single,“feita parva, mas tua”, the fifth advance from her debut album to be released at the beginning of 2024 entitled “não és tu, nem sou eu”.
Mariana Reis we talk about this new single “feita parva, mas tua”, “is a song/letter that came as an escape to confess through it, when we don’t have the courage to admit how we feel for someone. It’s a song that talks about love, in a hopeful doubt, without yet having the courage to assume vulnerability and confront the other person with this truth.”
And he adds “… it came about, as a way of venting, between conversations with the moon and with pen, guitar, and paper in hand, trying to put into words all the feelings that began to form around someone who is not sure whether it will correspond to us, whether it will be reciprocal or whether there will even be the chance of a joint future. It is in this uncertainty that dreams and fears, idealized plans, and frustrations are reported, always with a mix of passion and doubt about losing something that did not even exist yet .”
For the composer, “feita parva, mas tua” is “perhaps one of the themes that best reflects my musical identity and one of my favorite songs, not only from this album but from everything I’ve ever written.”
Once again, Mariana Reis presents us with themes about personal experiences that belong to all of us, which anyone has gone through or could go through. This “identification” that has existed since the first single deceives me today, I leave it (September 2021) with the public makes Mariana Reis one of the new national composers to pay attention to.
