The latest single from Dog’s Bollocks is the Deathwish theme. A “portrait of a character who – does not tell a story well – represents a life without goals and without great hope for the future, but at the same time, without rules or worries.” Luís Leitão, the mentor of this project, shares us.
[dropcap]A[/dropcap]n original lineup consisting of two guitars, voice and half drums that was planned in this format “even before we started thinking about concerts, that’s why the sound we make has already been thought of like that.” Luís Leitão confesses to us. Is it related to the sound they make/want to make or, also, to an economy of instruments to be recorded/taken, to a concert? “The initial idea was to make a kind of * One Man Band, but with two guitars (…) The economy and logistics part is just a bonus.” Luís Leitão explains to us.
Should the sound of this project, Dog’s Bollocks be cataloged between Rock and Electric Blues? “Yes, we can say that we walk between Blues and Rock n’Roll.” Can you tell us which artists you admire the most? “In terms of references, they come in several styles:“ Chuck Berry, Legendary Tigerman or White Stripes. Even Misfits, Dead Kennedys or Beach Boys. ” Luís Leitão shares us.
The video for Deathwish was recorded in the studio as if it were a rehearsal. How did this process go? “The recordings went quite well, removing one or two * overdubs for the choirs. It was all recorded as seen in the video, in a direct take to be able to capture that concert energy ”
