Composer and saxophonist Nubya Garcia announces her upcoming tour across Europe and the United Kingdom, debuting in Portugal, starting in Porto at Casa da Música on February 9.
Nubya Garcia’s Odyssey tour spans eight countries and includes her largest solo performances to date, taking place between February and March 2025, with the launch and debut in Portugal. Nubya Garcia will be accompanied on stage by her band, featuring Lyle Barton on keyboards, Daniel Casimir on double bass, and Sam Jones on drums.
Last week, her new album Odyssey was released, already widely acclaimed, and as the name suggests, it is an ambitious and epic journey, where Garcia ensures string orchestration for the first time. The result is a soundscape that traverses jazz, classical music, R&B, and dub.
Odyssey follows the debut of the Londoner nominated for the Mercury in 2020, Source. For the launch of Odyssey, Nubya Garcia realizes her long-standing vision of encompassing collective experiences and community listening events, celebrating the release with a unique exhibition and a series of immersive audio experiences in central London. Until Saturday (September 28), the free exhibition – KEF & Nubya Garcia presents: The Making Of Odyssey – marks the day of light for this new album, which we may hear live in February 2025.
Tickets will be on sale from this Friday (September 27).
