Coach Nuno Dias, three-time Portuguese champion and European runner-up in 2017 and 2018 with Sporting, is nominated for the best futsal coach in the world, according to the list published today by Futsal Planet.
Nuno Dias, 45, Sporting coach since 2012, is the only Portuguese coach on the list of best candidates in the world, whose winner will be known on December 31.
Among the nominees are Hamid Bigham Tabrizi (Iran), Esquerda (Brazil), Kaká (Brazil), Jesús Velasco (Spain), Marquinhos Xavier (Brazil), Miguel Rodrigo (Spain), Ricardinho Di Izeppe Brazil) and Tino Pérez (Spain).
For Sporting, Nuno Dias has already won five championships, three Portuguese Cups, two League Cups and four Super Cups, in addition to being in the last two seasons runner-up of the European Championship, losing in both editions of the Champions League with the Spaniards of Inter.
Also today, Futsal Planet, has placed the Portuguese men’s team, which this year was European champion, in the list candidate for the best team of the year, as well as the women’s team of U18, the winner of the Youth Olympic Games.
