“O Assunto” new video by Ana Márcia
The Subject is a song about the desire to forcibly erase what was our past, our mistakes, the mistakes of others, our less happy side or the sad part of history. The dark side that exists in each of us, which is so often hidden or ignored, is nevertheless an important part of life.
The truth is something that sometimes hurts, but without it, we will never know who we are. Pretending that nothing is happening, changing the subject, will never erase the marks on our bodies and our memories, and it can even prevent us from knowing how to move forward.
Márcia “O Assunto” is the fifth song from the album, Ana Márcia, to be available digitally, exclusively on Spotify. The video was directed and produced by Márcia.
In this song, Márcia added to her guitar and voice the electric guitar, pedal steel guitar, glockenspiel, synths and backing vocals by Filipe C. Monteiro; bass and choirs by David Santos; the electric guitar and choirs of Manuel Dordio and the drums, percussion and choirs of Zé Kiko Moreira. It also featured João Cabrita, Tomás Pimentel and Jorge Ribeiro on brass.

After selling out the Maria Matos Theater in Lisbon, Márcia presents her new album at the Sá da Bandeira Theater in Porto on May 31st.
