The Lisbon City Council and EGEAC paid tribute yesterday to Ruben de Carvalho, former councilor in the municipal executive and a deep connoisseur of Fado, giving his name to the auditorium of the Fado Museum. The ceremony was attended by His Excellency the Prime Minister, António Costa.
After the unveiling of the plaque with the name of the former councilor in the auditorium of the Fado Museum, the ceremony continued on the Museum’s esplanade.
A short film about Ruben de Carvalho was shown based on images provided by RTP, followed by a musical moment with Ricardo Parreira on the Portuguese guitar and Miguel Silva on the fado guitar. Finally, the interventions of the Professor of Ethnomusicology at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, the Salwa Castelo-Branco, the General Secretary of the PCP, Jerónimo de Sousa, the Mayor of Lisbon, Fernando Medina edeHis Excellency the Prime Minister, António Costa.
