The Psychology space “Undecided? Explore your Future” and the new Futurália app

Futurália at FIL from March 20th to 23rd

Futurália, the largest education, training and employability fair in the country, is back at FIL, from March 20th to 23rd.

Promoted by the AIP Foundation, the event returns with the motto “No one is left behind. Education for all.”, reinforcing the commitment to promoting sustainability in education and lifelong learning and bringing with it a series of opportunities and news for students, young graduates and adults seeking to train, update their knowledge and/or skills. “The objective is to raise awareness among young people and adults about the importance of acquiring skills as a crucial factor for professional success, in a context of rapid social and economic changes, driven by new technologies and constant innovations”, recalls Maria João Arruda, the manager of the event.

In this, the 15th edition of Futurália, some new features stand out: the psychology space “Undecided? Explore your Future!”, is one of the premieres at the event and consists of an initiative led by students in this area, which aims to support and guide students in their training choices. “It will be a relaxed space, for young people for young people, which aims to de-dramatize the use of psychologists, and make the various aspects of Psychology known”, explains Maria João Arruda.

The Employment and Employability space has a greater emphasis this year on Futurália, occupying a much larger area than usual and bringing together more than 20 companies, offering various training and recruitment activities for young people and adults and with vacancies available in several professional areas.

Also noteworthy is the Futurália Web App, an application that does not require downloading, and which has features such as an average calculator, exhibitor listing, 2D maps and event alerts, among other functions. This new app was created from scratch for Futurália and will be available very soon. Furthermore, the usual Educational Offer, which also brings new proposals, is joined by the Youth Space and the Teacher’s Room, which will also be present again.

About the Educational Offer, visitors will be able to contact Higher Education Institutions (from across the country, including islands), Professional and Technological Schools, Training Centers and Companies, Foreign Universities and Entities that present various scholarship opportunities and professional internships abroad. Anyone looking for an international academic experience and wants to know everything about equivalences, conditions, course duration, among other issues, will be able to contact directly with representatives from colleges in several countries – Germany, Argentina, Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, China, South Korea , Denmark, Spain, USA, France, Netherlands, Italy, Ireland, Japan, Macau, Malta, New Zealand, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Switzerland, among others. Anyone looking for scholarships to the USA can contact ‘Next Level’ or ‘Fulbright’. Once again, ‘Erasmus +’ is present with offers of professional internships, both for young people and adults.

Regarding talks for students, there are proposals such as “Discover the course you should follow, identifying your vocation”, by Coach Hugo Morais; “ABC of Personal Finances”, by Academia Doutor Finances; or “You can also be the president of your club”, promoted by IPDJ- Instituto Português do Desporto e Juventude. Registration is now open and must be done on the Futurália website. Still, within the scope of the Educational Offer, the highlight was the presence of Dino d’Santiago, as Ambassador of the Professional Intercultural Mediator Course, from IDS -Institute for Social Development, for a conversation about this course. The initiative is open to all interested parties and takes place on March 21, at 11 am.

As far as Espaço Juventude is concerned, it is increasingly an area in which activities with social, civic or political impacts are promoted, in which young people want to be increasingly involved. Finally, the 15th edition of Futurália will once again feature the Teacher’s Room; an exclusive area for teachers who accompany students on study visits, where it will be possible to socialize and network with other professionals in the education sector.

Futurália 2024 runs from 10 am to 6 pm, from March 20th to 22nd, and from 11 am to 7 pm, on March 23rd (Saturday).
