Fado goes to the Forum and returns on November 8 and 9 at the Forum da Maia with four spectacular concerts with free admission.
The Grand Auditorium of the Forum da Maia was the venue chosen by the Maia City Council for the 2024 edition of Fado goes to the Forum, where the richness and emotion of Fado, the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, will be celebrated in an event that promises to delight lovers of Portuguese music.
Over two days, great voices will take the stage at the Forum da Maia, providing the audience with unique moments of dedication and passion, on a journey through the soul of Fado, where we will have a show created exclusively for this event.
This edition of Fado goes to the Forum begins on November 8 at 19:00 with a show created for this event, where we will be able to listen to songs by Zeca Afonso, Adriano Correia de Oliveira, Luís Goes, and Carlos Paredes, honouring what is considered the golden generation of Fado/song and guitar from Coimbra and which played a crucial role in opposing the State Novo, being a voice of hope for a new Portugal. These same songs will be performed by Tiago Antas Botelho and António Lisboa. At 21:00, we will have the Fadista Cláudia Madeira, who has released the albums Fado fora de Portas (2012) and Caminho (2019).
The next day, November 9, Fado goes to the Forum starts again at 19:00 with the presentation of the Fadista Marcelo Soleda, who has been part of the cast of several Fado Houses in Porto, such as Casa da Mariquinhas, Taberna Real do Fado, and Páteo da Mariquinhas. Currently, he sings regularly at Fado Português, in Vila Nova de Gaia. At 21:00, to close this edition, Adriana Paquete will take the stage, who has been part of significant festivals such as Caixa Ribeira 2016 and Santa Casa Alfama 2019.
