Last Night in Amsterdam, The Black Mamba’s latest album, continues to reveal itself in the new single “Cornerstone”, now available on all digital platforms and on the band’s new official website – with exclusive content, it is the meeting point for the community that follows them and where newcomers to their universe are very welcome.
Recorded in the city that inspired much of their most recent creative journey, the music video for “Cornerstone” reinforces the band’s deep emotional and aesthetic connection with Amsterdam, in a contemplative and daytime counterpoint to the atmosphere of the previous videos, more euphoric and nocturnal – the “B-side” of The Black Mamba.

The direction and photography of the video for “Cornerstone” were in charge of Arlindo Camacho, who evokes the atmosphere of the forests of Amsterdam, close but sufficiently far from the city. The cadence of the music merges with that of the images, in indolent camera movements that respect the band’s intimacy. In one of the most striking images, vocalist Tatanka appears naked, in a raw and stripped-down representation that reflects the simplicity of the song and the honesty of the video itself, devoid of artifice or scenic ambitions. Camacho weaves a narrative of restraint, in which the image serves the essence: the music, the body, the landscape and time.

“Cornerstone” joins The Black Mamba’s live repertoire that includes iconic songs such as “Love Is On My Side”, “Crazy Nando”, “Sweet Amsterdam” and “Love Is Dope”, always performed with the high dose of soul, funk, virtuosity and humor that marks the band’s unique identity.
