SAPO Comedy Stage returns to MEO Marés Vivas and promises lots of laughter
Humour once again takes centre stage at MEO Marés Vivas with the return of the iconic SAPO Comedy Stage, from 18 to 20 July, in Vila Nova de Gaia.
Curated by renowned names and with a focus on new up-and-comers, the stage is once again one of the festival’s highlights, guaranteeing three days of laughter, satire and irreverence.
The 2025 edition will once again be supported by SAPO, the largest digital content player in Portugal, and will feature a line-up packed with national stand-up stars — from established veterans to new talents who promise to get people talking.
July 18 (Friday) opens with the unmissable presence of Eduardo Madeira, accompanied by Rúben Branco, one of the most popular comedians on the digital scene and a regular presence on major comedy stages. The night is rounded off with emerging talents Tomás Matos and Hélder Reitor, in a festival kickoff marked by experience, freshness and good humour.
On Saturday, July 19, the comedy will be provided by the experienced João Seabra and the explosive duo Sor Miguel & Bicalho, a phenomenon on social media. The stage will also welcome newcomers Roberto Correia and Daniela Barbosa, who bring original perspectives and a touch of irreverence.
On Sunday, July 20, the stage will close in style with Carlos Vidal, a doctor and comedian who has won over the public with his appearance on television and at renowned festivals, and João Dantas, one of the revelations of the new generation. The night will also feature Hélder Machado and Ricardo Karitsis, rising comedians who promise to leave the audience laughing out loud.
During the three days, the host will be the charismatic Rúben Branco, who returns as the official host of the SAPO Comedy Stage to warm up the audience and introduce the artists of each night, ensuring that each performance starts on the right foot.
With a line-up designed for all tastes and a relaxed atmosphere, the SAPO Comedy Stage is once again a must-see at MEO Marés Vivas 2025.
