The second day of Meo Mares Vivas featured Miguel Araújo & Os Quatro e Meia and Thirty Seconds to Mars

Thirty Seconds to Mars were the biggest names on the second day of the festival, but Miguel Araújo and Os Quatro e Meia gave the sold-out crowd at Meo Marés Vivas a magnificent concert.
The second day of the festival, which sold out, was dedicated almost entirely to high-quality Portuguese music. First, Luis Trigacheiro & Buba Espinho. Alentejo travelled north and brought their music, which is hard to resist, music with traditional roots, which these talented musicians breathe new life into.
The audience sang along in unison with Luís and Buba, “à la alentejana” (Alentejo style). A festival in Portugal can sell out a date with Portuguese music. The audience joins in, singing and dancing. This was the theme for the two following concerts on the MEO stage.
Next up were the talented Nena & Joana Almeirante, who, with their country rhythms, enchanted audiences wherever they went. The festival was packed with fans, playing songs from both groups, as well as covers, giving them a country feel, captivating the Gaia audience.
Miguel Araújo and Quatro e Meia followed. Some of the most beautiful songs written in Portuguese are by these gentlemen. Individually, they’re fantastic; together, they’re magnificent. It’s impossible not to dance and sing along to these musicians, who have given Portuguese music so many hits.
We heard songs by Miguel Araújo and Os Quatro e Meia, whom the Marés Vivas audience knew very well. They sang along in unison and wouldn’t let them leave without returning to the stage. They even delayed the next concert, but it was well worth it.
Thirty Seconds to Mars, an American alternative rock band formed in 1998 by brothers Jared Leto (vocals) and Shannon Leto (drums), blends elements of progressive rock, pop, and electronica. Their energetic performance captivated the audience at Meo Mares Vivas. The audience stayed put, however, as the rain made its appearance at Gaia. A vibrant show featuring their greatest hits, we don’t have any footage of, as the duo denied access to the media right before the show.
On the Moche stage, we saw Gonçalo Malafaya (who didn’t come, only bringing a small group of fans and family who supported him from start to finish), Beatriz Rosário and Carol Biazin. We also saw Tiago Nacarato on the SAMBA Stage.
