Léo Santana, Carolina Deslandes, T-REX, Nininho Vaz Maia, Valete, and Matias Damásio among the artists confirmed for the 2023 edition of the Sol da Caparica Festival, were presented by Zahir Assanali at the Convento dos Capuchos yesterday.
The first names for the 8th edition of O Sol da Caparica were announced on Wednesday at a press conference. Léo Santana, Carolina Deslandes, T-REX, Nininho Vaz Maia, Valete, and Matias Damásio are highlighted among those confirmed for this year, a festival that will have 5 stages and a rock band singing the festival anthem that aims to break the record. from Guinness.
On the first day, to shake up the Dom Tápparo Stage, and fans of hot rhythms, Léo Santana, a Brazilian singer known as the “Gigante” and author of the hit song “Zona de Perigo“, promises to take the audience to the red and take the foot off the floor. Carolina Deslandes, one of the greatest artists and composers of Portuguese music, brings her greatest hits and her most recent album Caos to the Festival. Another musician that stands out is T-Rex, undoubtedly one of the names of the moment. With Coliseu dos Recreios sold out, and unprecedented marks on Spotify, it is confirmed for the second day of the festival.
Performances by Paulo Gonzo, on the 17th of August, Badoxa, on the 19th, and Matias Damásio, a well-known name at O Sol da Caparica, who will return on the last day of the event after having been there in 2019, were also revealed.
On August 20, the main stage welcomes Valete, an unavoidable artist in Portuguese hip hop, and the Brazilian singer MC Pedrinho, known for the hit “Dom Dom Dom”, which will close a memorable night guaranteed by its diversity and quality.
The poster also announces two artists much loved by the public: João Pedro Pais and Nininho Vaz Maia. Also within the confirmations, Kappa Jotta, Jüra, and Yola Semedo were revealed for the Kavi Music stage, which will also feature performances by Desconectados, Domingues, Beatriz Rosário, the young promise of the new fado, and Fernando Cunha who invites Olavo Bilac, Rui Pregal da Cunha, Paulo Costa, Pedro Jóia and much more.
The band Duque Province, which explores indie and pop rock sounds, Portuguese soul artist Da Chick, LEO2745, artist Chelsea Dinorath, holder of the “Feminine Voice of the Year” award at the Top Rádio Luanda 2022 awards, Gaby (from Irmãos Verdades) who will present a unique concert celebrating 30 years of career, the band Puro Rock and Tontos are other artists that will perform throughout the four days of the festival on the Red Tazz stage.
For the Matrizauto Stage, for comedy and dance, the curatorship of Jel and Jazzy Dance Studios was highlighted in this first wave of confirmations. Every day the stage will have performances by two artists, who will be accompanied by dancers with choreographies designed for each concert. For now, the performance of the artist Tay, a promising young man in Portuguese music, who will debut at the festival on the first day, and the duo Damásio Brothers for the 20th, have been revealed.
On the LS&Republicano stage, the group Porbatuka, a musical and social inclusion project, is confirmed. Being considered one of the most original percussion groups in Portugal, they will once again guarantee animation in the enclosure, during the 4 days of the festival.
Solidarity auction to the sound of the Hino do Sol da Caparica
“Encore” and Festival O Sol da Caparica, side by side with solidarity objectives, seek to join forces and break a record by promoting the biggest inclusive rock band in the world. A cause that brings together more than 1200 musicians, including 450 guitarists, 250 drummers, 400 vocalists, and 200 bass players to sing the anthem of the sun. A project curated by artist Neev.
An ENCORE Guitar will be up for auction, which will be autographed by all the artists of the 8th edition of the festival. The value raised from the auction will revert in its entirety to buy musical instruments for children and communities that do not have the financial capacity to acquire them.
“Encore” and Sol da Caparica contribute in this way to the most ambitious and important objectives declared by the United Nations with a view to sustainable development.

The daily ticket varies between €20 for those over 65 and €26, and €2.80 for Children’s Day. There are special prices for those registered in the municipality of Almada at €22/day.
The festival also offers different passes for the 4 days:

• Family Pass (Includes Child’s Day) – 2 Adults and 2 Youths Up to 16 Years Old = 145€;
• 4 Day Pass Counted Almada Municipality (Includes Children’s Day) = 63€;
• 4-Day Pass for Over 65s (Includes Child Day) = 60€
