The Octant Hotels announce the launch of the Latitude project, an innovative platform that invites guests to explore the hidden treasures and authentic traditions surrounding each of their hotels.
After months of exploration and discovery, Latitude brings together more than 200 carefully selected suggestions, offering a unique and immersive travel experience.
Since its creation in 2022, the Octant Hotels have shown a strong commitment to local culture and traditions. The Latitude project is the materialization of this commitment, resulting from a deep exploration of the regions surrounding each hotel. The Octant team dedicated itself to visiting museums, craftsmen, restaurants, traditional shops and points of interest, talking to the people of the land and discovering places that are not included in conventional tour guides.
Among the contents of the project, immersion in local culture is valued through several lenses. In each region, such as Alentejo, Algarve, Douro and Azores, authenticity is explored through Local Heroes, Gastronomy, Crafts and Fauna & Flora.
Unique stories are revealed, such as the tradition of the “picar da carne” in the festivals of Espírito Santo in the Azores (In the community), the art of Joaquim Boavida in the creation of traditional chairs in Alentejo (Arts & Crafts), or the passion of António Manuel Marques for the study of birds in the Algarve (Fauna & Flora), offering users a genuine connection with the territory and its peoples. “Latitude is more than a tour guide,” says Filipe Bonina, Marketing Director at Discovery Hotel Management. “It is a manifesto to travel and to be with purpose, diving into the essence of each place. We want our guests to experience the ‘small great worlds’ that make each Octant Hotel special, discovering authentic flavours, ancestral traditions and unique landscapes. ”
In October between 24 and 26, Latitude goes further, with an exclusive weekend in the Octant Douro, which celebrates the local authenticity and community of the region. A natural extension of the Octant experience, which will bring together local chefs, artists and producers for two days of informal luxury, who invite them to explore, feel and taste the authenticity of the region.
With a diverse schedule, and activities such as tasting dinners, concerts, intimate talks, riverside yoga classes and meadow trips, you can also customize the experience with special dinners or premium wine tastings.
