Offset, superstar named for GRAMMYs®, releases a new single, the hypnotic “Swing My Way”, just before his birthday. As a multifaceted artist – rapper, composer, actor, stylist – the song comes with a luxurious and courageous video directed by Kid Art and co-starring supermodel Anok Yai.
The new release comes just after Offset’s surprise collaboration with Juice WRLD, “Celebration” – from the late rapper’s last posthumous album, “The Party Never Ends” – and just before Offset’s Winter Wonderland Experience. The event is a toy/gift distribution and Christmas celebration for needy families in Atlanta, taking place at the Gateway Center Arena in College Park, GA on Monday, December 16.
“Swing My Way” is a flexible song performed as only Offset could do, intertwining its professional flow, unpredictable improvisations and fantastic visions of opulence. Unleash the language on a bass groove produced by Turbo (Young Thug, Travis Scott, Lil Baby) complete with vibrant keys and bass. “Baby, I’m not one of them/ I’m one of the ones”, she says.
O vídeo de “Swing My Way” apenas sublinha esta declaração, com Yai a interpretar a protagonista numa filmagem altamente estilizada em Brooklyn, Nova Iorque e Miami realizada por Kid Art, que foi celebrado pelo seu trabalho com artistas como Future, Dipset, Drake, entre outros. Offset, claro, não é estranho à moda. Em setembro, ajudou a lançar a Semana da Moda de Nova Iorque (NYFW) com uma inauguração ao lado de Anna Wintour como celebridade embaixadora do CFDA. Durante a NYFW, também desfilou para Luar e Melitta Baumeister.
No início deste ano, Offset esgotou salas de costa a costa nos EUA na digressão “SET IT OFF”, aproveitando o sucesso do seu álbum de 2023, SET IT OFF, que atingiu o top 5 da Billboard 200 e alcançou o 2.º lugar na tabela Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart e acumulou centenas de milhões de streams. Com destaques como “BLAME IT ON SET”, sem mencionar participações especiais de nomes como Future, Mango Foo, Latto, Young Nudy e Chlöe, o álbum foi amplamente aclamado.
