Finally back in Portugal, Ólafur Arnalds, came back to present ‘Some Kind of Peace’ his new album.
The composer and musician received him in a completely full CCB, which applauded each theme, Ólafur, thanked the reception, and expressed his deep joy at returning to Portugal, where he had been in 2019.
In interviews, the musician talks about his almost unhealthy need to control everything around him, but, as the global health crisis of the last two years has shown, there are things that are beyond us and that we cannot control.
Realizing this, the composer who has already collaborated with countrymen Sigur Rós and with the also acclaimed composer Nils Frahm, decided to change his attitude and the new album reflects this transformation.
“It’s such a personal record that I’m still trying to find the words to describe it“, admits Ólafur, “I thought it was important that this record told my story in a very honest way. And this album is much closer to my heart than any of the others.” This is saying a lot for anyone who has worked on Chopin’s music or given soul to a mechanical piano in the acclaimed re:member.
A memorable concert, that enchanted everyone who was at the CCB.
