Lisbon < Olivia Rodrigo, Noah Kahan, Benson Boone, and Mark Ambor, the stars of the first day < 1

NOS Alive July 10

The first day of the 2025 edition of NOS Alive featured many unmissable shows, but the stars of the night were Olivia Rodrigo, Noah Kahan, Benson Boone, and Mark Ambor, who wowed this long-sold-out event.

The NOS Stage opened with Mark Ambor, who had fans waiting for him. Fans were won over from the start. Benson Boone, a true “revolution” on stage, ran the entire stage, got on the piano, did a backflip, and energised an audience captivated by his music.

Noah Kahan was the next artist to perform with a show full of familiar songs. He was the star before the headliner, Olivia Rodrigo, entered the stage. Perhaps the biggest contributor to a long-sold-out show, though it wasn’t the best show of the day.

But this great festival isn’t just about the NOS Stage. The Heineken Stage featured Nathy Peluso, Parov Stelar, Glass Animals, Barry Can’t Swim, Artemas, Bad Nerves, and the Portuguese band Green Leather.

The crowd arrived throughout the day, but it wasn’t until late at night that the ballroom filled up, and the stage went through several phases, from a few festival-goers to packed. Green Leather opened the concert with a solid set, followed by the energetic Bad Nerves, who deserved a full house, followed by Artemas and Barry Can’t Swim.

Glass Animals were fantastic, perhaps one of the best shows of the festival. The energy was intense, and the crowd didn’t miss a moment. Parov Stelar, who captivated any audience with his super danceable music and good vibes, followed by a late-night performance by Nathy Peluso, by which time most festival-goers had gone home.

Johnny Sequeira, Zarko, Iolanda, Libra, Motherflutters, Nuno Cabral, and Mão Cabeça performed on the WTF Clubbing Stage. Iolanda’s performance was a highlight, and she had a special guest, Carolina Deslandes. The singer who represented Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest continues to evolve on stage and surprise the audience.

The Coreto Stage featured Noise Dolls Club, Rossana, Baleia Baleia Baleia, Girls 96, and Gisela Mabel, who was one of the highlights on stage. A Portuguese-Angolan pianist, composer, and producer born in the Algarve, her compositions blend classical music, jazz, African, and Brazilian rhythms, creating a vibrant sound.

On the Galp Fado Café Stage, we can listen and dance to the sounds of O Samba É 1 Só, a stage that featured Diogo Clemente, Pedro Moutinho, and the wonderful Chiquinha Gonzaga Orchestra, who came from Brazil to dazzle us with some of the most beautiful songs of MPB (Brazilian Popular Music). Teresinha Landeiro, another of Portugal’s finest voices, was a guest.
