GRAMMY®-nominated pop-rock band OneRepublic now reveals their new single, “Invincible (from Kaiju No.8)”, available on digital platforms.
Following the success of “Nobody (Kaiju No. 8 ED theme)”, which won the Japan Gold Disc Award 2025 in the “Song of the Year by Download” category, the band has once again composed a special song for the anime series “Kaiju No.8”. The song talks about those moments when, no matter what happens or the difficulty faced, we feel invincible. This single is a collaboration with “Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon,” an all-new original episode centred around one of the most popular characters, Hoshina, airing after a recap of the first season of “Kaiju No. 8.”
In January 2025, vocalist Ryan Tedder shared a video from his Tokyo hotel room, during which he stated: “I just recorded the bridge! The song was only done 30 seconds ago!” The following day, at the show at Ariake Arena, the band surprised the audience with a live performance of the newly created “Invincible (from Kaiju No. 8)”. Since then, fans have been waiting for this single to be released.
The summary of the first season of the anime series “Kaiju No. 8” and the episode “Mission Recon” are currently in limited screenings in 32 theatres in Japan.
