Opel reveals prices for the new Insignia range and opens orders

The new Insignia edition is equipped with numerous advanced technologies. The Grand Sport saloon and ‘station wagon’ Sports Tourer offer, for the first time, a digital rear camera, which can be combined with a radar-based rear traffic approach alert system.

The range is complete with a long list of driving assistance systems that includes an imminent front collision alert, with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, and a very complete ‘head-up display’.

Sophisticated information and entertainment systems are fully compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, controlled by large color touch screens. Among the equipment is the system for recharging mobile phone batteries by induction.

The new Opel Insignia series is even more efficient thanks to the intervention of lightweight engineering and a range of new-generation engines.

The Insignia range in Portugal is spread over four levels of equipment, available in both Grand Sport and Sports Tourer body variants. The Insignia Business Edition is part of the offer more specifically dedicated to fleet users, while the GS Line, Ultimate and GSi levels are more comprehensive proposals.

The standard equipment of the Insignia GS Line stands out for its 18 inch alloy wheels with 245/45 tires, leather and fabric-lined seats, ergonomic AGR driver’s seat and a special interior design called “Hexagon”.

Living up to its top-of-the-line position, Ultimate offers the brand new Intellilux Pixel LED array headlights, alcantara-lined seats, central locking and keyless ignition, traffic sign recognition system, Multimedia radio NAVI Pro with navigation and electric boot opening with foot sensor (Sports Tourer), among many others.

The top-of-the-range GSI, which is also available in the saloon and ‘station wagon’ body variants, offers specific equipment such as 20-inch alloy wheels, gearbox steering levers on the steering wheel and ‘rear’ spoiler.

The standard equipment of all Insignia is extremely complete, incorporating an electric parking brake, air conditioning with two-zone electronic control, electrically adjustable heated exterior mirrors, eight-way adjustable driver’s seat with extendable legrest, control windows electric front and rear, front and rear parking sensors, rain sensor, light sensor, and automatic mid-maximum control, to name just a few.

In the field of safety, all Insignia offer a front camera with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking, distance indicator for the vehicle ahead, imminent front collision alert, and lane departure alert with automatic steering correction.

Prices for the new Insignia range start at 35,860 euros for Grand Sport variants, 37,210 euros for Sports Tourers. The flagship Insignia Grand Sport GSi is offered for 55,160 euros.
