The new Animal Rehabilitation and Regeneration Center of Lisbon (CRRAL) has just opened its doors on the Cruzeiro Hills, Odivelas, with new diagnostics, rehabilitation modalities, regenerative medicine, and stem cell bank, has made available in June the first Veterinary hyperbaric chamber with therapeutic capacity.
Under the technical and clinical direction of Ângela Martins, a veterinarian, responsible for this new project and director of the Arrabida Veterinary Hospital, now comes CRRAL, where each veterinarian patient can have a specialist consultation, according to the type of injury they suffer. each present. Each patient will be given a specific protocol based on regenerative, modulating and restorative functionality to adapt to the daily functions of the family.
In the center will be available diagnostic means such as analytical means (CBC, biochemical analysis, clotting times), conventional radiology, as well as Thoracic, Abdominal, and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound; between all kinds of rehabilitation modalities. These include Electromyostimulation, Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES), TENS and EMES, Diathermy / Radiofrequency, Magnetotherapy, Ultrasound, Class IV and IIIb Laser Therapy.
Available therapies include Extra-body Shockwave Therapy, Hydrotherapy, Ground Treadmill, Weight-Supported Ground Floor Locomotor Training.
As far as Regenerative Medicine services are concerned, we highlight the Hyperbaric Chamber Service and the creation of a platelet-rich stem cell and plasma bank, with the association of Ana Colette, PhD in Veterinary Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Technical University of Lisbon.
