Orfélia presents album at B.LEZA

The Luso-Brazilian musical project presents the debut album “Tudo o que Move”

Orfélia is the project of Antera and Filipe Mattos, who created their musical universe from their origins, in Portugal and Brazil. In the Lusophone intimacy of her music, Orfélia mixes traditional rhythms with the enveloping mystery of psychedelia. Daughter of tropicalism, she exposes and celebrates the multicultural music between two sister peoples.

Antera studied classical piano and singing and majored in Performing Arts; Filipe studied guitar at music conservatories and is from Florianópolis, a city in southern Brazil with a strong Portuguese influence. They met on a stage in Berlin and from that meeting, “Orfélia” was born.
His musical influences range from Chico Buarque, Jacques Brel, and The Beatles, to Amália Rodrigues, and Caetano Veloso, among other timeless masters.

In 2019, the duo released the EP “Retratos Temporais” and singles that received several prominences in Media. In particular, the single “Lagos”, one of the winning songs of the Inéditos Vodafone contest, was promoted by Vodafone and Sony Music Portugal in 2020.

On the 21st of October Orfélia’s first album was released, which was produced with the support of the Lagos City Council:Tudo o Que Move”.
The title is inspired by the soul of Gilberto Gil’s song “Aqui e Agora”, which marks a moment in the lives of artists of great transformation, revealing the strength of the spirit.

The album explores worlds, conflicts, and emotions, where everything that moves, transforms. Where love in the attentive presence, “wakes up the look”. It’s fado and samba, Brazil and Portugal, a dance between light and heavy, between matter and heaven.
In the mix of traditional rhythms, accents, and electronic and acoustic sounds, an Orphelian cadence is generated, a “progressive” wave that comes from inside the house to the Sun.

On the 2nd of November the album “Tudo o que Move” is presented live at B.Leza, at 9 pm in Lisbon.
