Orfélia premieres live in Porto

Maus Hábitos

The Luso-Brazilian project formed by Antera and Filipe Mattos will perform for the first time in the city of Porto: Orfélia will present the debut album “Tudo que Move” on January 6th, at Maus Hábitos, at 9.30 pm.

The debut album mixes traditional rhythms with the involving mystery of psychedelia. Daughter of tropicalism, it exposes and celebrates the multicultural music between two brother peoples. The title “Tudo que Move” is inspired by the soul of Gilberto Gil’s song “Aqui e Agora, which marks a moment in the artists’ lives of great transformation, revealing the strength of the spirit.

Antera, born in Lagos (Algarve), studied classical piano and singing and graduated in Performing Arts; Filipe studied guitar at music conservatories and is from Florianópolis, a city in southern Brazil with a strong Portuguese influence. They met on a stage in Berlin and from that meeting, “Orfélia” was born. His musical influences range from Chico Buarque, Jacques Brel, and The Beatles, to Amália Rodrigues, and Caetano Veloso, among other timeless masters.

In 2019, the duo released the EP “Retratos Temporais” and singles that were featured in various media. Especially the single “Lagos”, one of the winning themes of the Inéditos Vodafone contest, was promoted by Vodafone and Sony Music Portugal in 2020.

On the 6th of January, Orfélia will perform with a full band that includes Antera on vocals and synthesizers, Filipe Mattos on guitar, André Morais on bass, Sebastião Bergmann on drums, Lana Gasparotti on keys, and Zé Cruz on percussion.
